Rust Prevention – Easy Maintenance Tips

  • Not Dishwasher Safe: Never put your knife in the dishwasher – always hand-wash.
  • Rinse After Each Use: Wash with fresh water after using, especially if exposed to salt, moisture, or acidic foods.
  • Dry Immediately: Wipe your knife dry right away—never leave it to air dry.
  • Oil After Each Use: Apply a light coat of food-safe oil to prevent rust. Suitable options include mineral oil, camellia oil, beeswax-based knife oils, or food-grade coconut oil. Avoid olive or vegetable oils as they can turn rancid.
  • Store Properly: Keep in a dry place, away from humidity.

Sharpening

Any knife edge can become blunt over time and with each use. We recommend that you sharpen your knife's blade as required.

The blade can be sharpened using any standard sharpening equipment, including a wet stone, rods, etc.
